World Environment Day: Ola to plant 10,000 saplings

    India's most popular mobile app for transportation Ola celebrated World Environment Day by flagging off a drive to plant 10,000 saplings. The event was graced by T.L. Satyaprakash, Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Gurugram and Amit Khatri, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Gurugram who inaugurated the activity by planting the first sapling.

    Over the course of the next couple of months, 10,000 saplings would be planted in different areas of Gurugram.

    Talking about the initiative, T.L. Satyaprakash, Deputy Commissioner Gurugram said, "Working towards attaining a pollution free, green and clean environment is among one of the top priorities for the government. Initiatives like these from a responsible corporate citizen like Ola, help create much needed awareness around environmental protection. We look forward to the Ola's support and assistance in building a greener and cleaner city; as well as continuing to make available, reliable and sustainable mobility options for citizens."

    Highlighting the importance of such activities, Deep Singh, Business Head, North, Ola said, "As a responsible corporate citizen, Ola understands the need for conserving the environment and making our surroundings greener for a sustainable future. This activity is aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of conserving environment. With the goal of creating mobility for a billion Indians, Ola is committed to provide smart and environment friendly commuting solutions for users. Categories like Ola Shuttle and Ola Share are playing a pivotal role in making riders realize the importance of shared mobility and how they help address imminent issues like growing pollution and traffic congestion."

    Shared Mobility can go a long way in contributing towards de-congestion and reduced pollution in Delhi NCR. As a unique shared mobility offering, Ola Shuttle has the capacity to serve as many as 40 seats in one go, addressing existential problems like congestion, pollution and parking.
